HBM's Nuclear Tech Mod calculators

Five reactor systems, each one run on the mod's own formulas: RBMK, ZIRNOX, research reactor, graphite pile and fusion torus. Every number is read out of the decompiled source, not copied from the wiki.

Calculators

HBM's NTM · 1.7.10-1.0.27 Graphite Pile Calculator

Build the pile layer by layer and run its 12-ray neutron Monte-Carlo: flux maps, concrete and boron shadowing, rod heat that self-damps, and the time to breed plutonium and tritium.

HBM's NTM · 1.7.10-1.0.27 Research Reactor Calculator

Slide the control rod over a grid of plate fuels and watch the self-coupled cascade settle, melt down, or feed a breeder: equilibrium flux, temperature, and the highest safe level.

HBM's NTM · 1.7.10-1.0.27 ZIRNOX Reactor Calculator

Paint the 24-slot core and trade neighbour decay bonuses against CO2 pressure: steam, meltdown margin and rod life, down to the float rounding in the mod's own steam formula.

HBM's NTM · 1.7.10-1.0.27 RBMK Reactor Calculator

Paint a graphite core, drop in 31 kinds of fuel rod, and the RBMK is simulated tick by tick: neutron streams, xenon poison, column heat, steam, and the AZ-5 tip that makes the scram dangerous.

HBM's NTM · 1.7.10-1.0.27 Fusion Reactor Calculator

One of ten fusion recipes, any klystron rig: the ignition gate, the share each receiver gets, the MHDT's 5M plasma cliff, and the steam, neutrons and EU that come out.

Which one do you need?

Breeding plutonium or tritium

The graphite pile gives the seconds to plutonium for any layout, and tritium from lithium rods. The research reactor page covers the breeder machine that sits next to a plate-fuel core.

Steam from one block

ZIRNOX is a single block that builds its own shell. The calculator shows how long a rod load lasts and how close the core runs to meltdown at your CO2 setting.

A big, tunable steam plant

The RBMK is the large one: rod type, graphite placement, control rods, boilers and xenon all change the result, and the page replays up to 1,000 seconds of it.

Fusion

The torus calculator checks whether your klystrons clear the recipe's ignition gate, then what the plasma is worth in steam or EU.

One mod, several forks

NTM has no config files for its reactors: the constants live in the code, and the forks change some of them. Each calculator has a Mod preset bar with the original 1.0.27 values and one preset per fork, read straight out of that fork's source.

The differences matter. The RBMK's rod-pull limit is 150 HE in the original and 1,500 HE in every fork we checked, and the Space and Community Edition forks run ZIRNOX steam at 187.5 against the original's 125. Pick your fork before trusting a number.
